How gay-friendly is Ketchikan?
Ketchikan is a compact, very wet gateway to Southeast Alaska, with Creek Street, salmon, totem poles, rainforest, wildlife, and enough rain to make “waterproof” feel like a personal philosophy. Many cruise docks are close to downtown, but Misty Fjords, kayaking, ziplining, and wildlife trips leave the center and need a firm return plan.
There is no dedicated gay nightlife scene to chase here; the appeal is a mixed, outdoorsy port with strong Indigenous cultural and natural-history experiences. Compare pickup locations at the downtown docks and Ward Cove, especially when a ship uses the newer terminal.
