You can browse Gay Cruise List without creating an account. The directory requests aggregate sailing counts from Seamen but does not display member identities.
Email cruise updates
If you request cruise updates, we store your email address, the public identifiers of up to three selected cruises, your price and availability choices, and any operator, region, or cruise line you choose for new-cruise alerts. Updates require email confirmation. Every alert includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops future delivery. Pending unconfirmed requests expire after 48 hours; delivery records are retained only as needed to prevent duplicate sends, retry temporary failures, and document consent.
Reviews, photos, and flags
When you submit a review, we store your rating, optional display name and comment, optional photographs, submission time, and the listing you reviewed. Approved reviews and their photographs are public. Please do not upload another person's image or private information without permission.
To discourage duplicate voting and flagging without requiring an account, we set a long-lived, HTTP-only review identifier cookie and store keyed hashes derived from that identifier and your IP address. We do not place the raw IP address or cookie identifier inside the review. These fingerprints are used for abuse prevention, not public profiles.
Review text and photographs are sent to OpenAI for automated safety screening before publication. OpenAI receives the submitted content for this check, but not the review cookie or IP fingerprint. Questionable content may be held for human review or rejected. Flags and moderation records are available only to editors.
Saved cruises and comparisons
Saved-cruise and comparison selections are stored only in your current browser. They contain public cruise identifiers, not your name or contact information. Clear your saved list or your browser’s site data to remove them.
Analytics and advertising choices
On a fresh visit, our server checks the request IP against a country database—just enough geography to decide whether to roll out the analytics welcome mat. The country check creates no additional raw-IP record; standard security access logs may retain the request address for up to 30 days. If the country is the United States or Canada, we presume permission to use Google Analytics, PostHog, the Meta Pixel, and the Vibe Pixel. Everywhere else, we ask before any of them load. If the country check loses its compass, measurement stays off until you choose. A stored “no,” Global Privacy Control, or browser Do Not Track signal always wins.
Google Analytics and PostHog measure page views and useful interactions. For visitors with measurement permission, PostHog may create a masked session replay when a visitor starts a cruise booking, opens an operator booking link, or clicks a Viator excursion link. Ordinary browsing sessions that contain none of those booking-intent events are not retained as replays, and form inputs are masked in the browser before replay data is sent to PostHog.
The Meta Pixel measures page views, public cruise-detail views, selected non-text filters, saved cruises, travel-inquiry steps, operator or excursion clicks, and clicks to Seamen. Meta may use those events to measure ads and build advertising audiences. We disable Meta’s automatic event collection and do not send form contact details, inquiry identifiers, account identifiers, or free-text searches—your 2 a.m. cabin research does not need a name tag.
Vibe measures page views and completed travel-inquiry forms for campaign attribution and audience reporting. Its pixel uses a host-only identifier cookie and may use the visitor’s IP address and Google Analytics identifier for attribution; Gay Cruise List sends no booking-form contact details to Vibe.
The country lookup includes GeoLite data created by MaxMind. Open this page in a browser to change the analytics and advertising choice for that device.
Text-message travel updates
GayCruiseList.com and Seamen are operated by Seamen App LLC. If you provide a mobile number and separately consent to receive text messages from GayCruiseList and Seamen on a GayCruiseList.com travel inquiry or itinerary form, we use your mobile number and opt-in record to respond to your trip inquiry and provide itinerary, booking, payment, and traveler updates. These are travel-planning and trip-support messages, not promotional marketing messages. You will receive no more than 10 messages per month.
Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time; for assistance, email info@gaycruiselist.com. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Travel inquiries
If you request a quote, the details you submit—including contact information, date of birth, guest details, and room preference—are sent to Seamen Travel Services, stored in Seamen’s shared production database, and used to prepare and follow up on your quote.
For an operator-handoff request, Gay Cruise List also shares the submitted contact information, date of birth, guest details, room preference, and notes with the named cruise operator so it can follow up about that sailing.
Do not submit another person’s details unless they have given you permission. For deletion or privacy requests, email chris@seamen.app. Seamen’s full privacy policy also applies to travel inquiries.
